Stepping outside the usual – because this Trip to Asia feels too exciting not to share.
Usually, this Blog is all about Tattoos and Ideas, but Today, I’m taking a different Direction. I’m going on my very first Trip to Asia and thought, why not share it here?
I’ve been super into Asia ever since I started watching Anime, especially Japan. But when I decided to take a Vacation this January and February, I wanted to find a Destination with great Weather. That’s how I landed on Thailand – it’s a well-known Holiday Spot here in Switzerland.
While looking at Flights, I noticed Singapore Airlines. Since they already have a layover in Singapore, I thought, “Why not check out the City?” I started exploring nearby Places that I could visit with a short Flight and stumbled across Kuala Lumpur. It caught my interest, and I decided to include it in my Trip.
At first, I thought about visiting Japan from Singapore. The Idea of flying straight from Singapore sounded exciting. But Japan is just as cold as Switzerland right now, and there’s no way I can fit both Winter and Summer Clothes into one Suitcase. I’ll save Japan for Spring or Autumn when the Cherry blossoms or fall Colors make it extra magical.
Unfortunately, Singapore Airlines had some issues processing my Multi-City booking with Phuket, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in it. So I checked out other Airlines and found Emirates. Even though it has a layover in Dubai, I liked the idea of breaking the Journey somewhat into two Parts. The Price was great, and when I realized it wouldn’t cost more to turn my layover into a proper stopover in Dubai on the Way back, I went for it.
I’ve got a solid three-week plan. I will spend a few days in Singapore and a few in Kuala Lumpur. I’ll stay a week in Phuket and then a few days in Dubai.
Since my blog is all about Tattoos, I’ve also thought about getting one in Thailand – but only if I find a Studio that I really like. The timing would be tricky, though, because you’re not supposed to swim with a fresh Tattoo. If I do it, it’ll have to be on my last Day in Thailand. I don’t have a Design in mind yet, but maybe I’ll decide spontaneously or think about it up in the next Days.
The past few Days have flown by. I only started my blog on January 3rd, and I’ve been working on it like a Madman – sometimes more than 12 Hours a Day. Normally, I’d be counting down the Minutes until my Trip, but I’ve been so busy that I didn’t even have Time for that.
I’ve already found a cool Metal bar (http://instagram.com/theflyingvmetalbar) in Singapore that I definitely want to check out – I might even end up being a Regular while I’m there, haha. I’m curious about what I’ll find for Nightlife at the other stops.
If anyone has tips for must-see Spots or awesome Bars at the Places I’m visiting, would love to hear it, hit me up.
I can’t wait to experience Asia for the first Time.
Much Love, Nils
